The Agricultural Support Project (P3A), which focuses on small-scale livestock farming and the processing of cassava into gari..., has introduced new practices and innovations into the daily lives of the beneficiary communities. These new practices are not well received by some. This situation raises the issue of whether sustainable changes can be achieved as a result of a development project. The unfortunate reality is that people do not change, nor does their living environment. To better understand the reasons behind this situation, we asked ourselves two questions: How can a project bring about sustainable change? Are there factors that trigger sustainable change outside of development projects? The answers to these two questions have helped us to understand the need to take into account the internal dynamics of socio-cultural groups when formulating and implementing development projects.

Codjo Augustin HOUNNOU, nascido a 29 de agosto de 1969 em Comé, no Benim, titular de uma Licenciatura em Direito Empresarial pela UAC (Benim) e de um Mestrado em Políticas Económicas e Sociais, com especialização em: Desenvolvimento e Gestão de Projetos na UCL (Bélgica), ocupa, desde 2008, o cargo de Diretor de Estudos, Planeamento, Acompanhamento e Avaliação no FNPEEJ.
