This study investigates the removal of Quinoline Yellow dye from aqueous solutions using aluminum oxide nanoparticles synthesized from Carica papaya seeds (Cp-AlO NPs) as a sustainable and low-cost adsorbent. The nanoparticles were characterized by FESEM, EDX, XRD, BET, FTIR, and TGA, confirming their morphology, elemental composition, crystalline structure, surface properties, functional groups, and thermal stability. Batch adsorption studies evaluated the effects of pH, contact time, adsorbent dosage, initial dye concentration, and temperature. Maximum dye removal of 92.76% was achieved at pH 5, with an equilibrium adsorption capacity of 102.5 mg/g. Kinetic analysis showed that the process followed the pseudo-second-order model, while intraparticle diffusion indicated the involvement of surface adsorption and pore diffusion. Overall, Cp-AlO NPs show promising potential for sustainable dye removal from wastewater.
