Learning Chinese Overseas Textbook is compiled mainly for learners of Chinese at universities in Europe and can satisfy classroom teaching needs of two academic years (four credit hours every week) of European universities. It can also be used as a self-taught or reference book for adult foreign students. This series is made up of four textbooks, with each containing 14 lessons. Each textbook is accompanied with corresponding Chinese character exercise book and CD. Each lesson includes text, vocabulary, annotations, pronunciation (Textbook1 only), grammar, and exercises, and the supporting Chinese character exercise book includes copy writing, classification of Chinese character components, character building of components, and word building. What is taught in the textbook and the designing of situations in the texts take local language environment of European students into full account. Taking into consideration of the difficult points that European students may have in learning Chinese, the exercises as well as the explanation of words and grammar are designed to meet their most basic and practical needs.
