Inhaltsangabe

As dusk settles, the 12-year-old Michel Marini, an amateur photographer and compulsive reader who loves table football and movie, comes to the local bistro Barreto as usual. Today, he opens the drawn curtain at the end of the bistro for the first time: it is a brand new world! In addition to Sartre who cheats in the game of go, there are a group of incorrigible optimists who have to leave their hometown and conceal their identity. No matter the taxi driver with excellent medical skills, the star pilot who never gets the knock, the miraculously survived movie projectionist or the mysterious photographer, they all have their own legendary experience. These people have to abandon love, family, status, and identity to get freedom in Paris but they are wandering forever. The hometown experience is a shadow lingering in their hearts. In the bar, Michel gets a glimpse of the history behind personal life in the adolescence of parental divorce, brother running away and friends leaving. The cross-age friends are indispensable in his growth and they completely change the middle-class Michel's outlook on life and convey the surviving hope.
