An Argentinean overseas student traveled so far to Oxford and studied at the Department of Mathematics. Soon after his arrival, he was involved in a murder. In a summer afternoon, his landlord lady was killed at home. He went home with Oxford Mathematical Logic dean Arthur Selden because someone put a note in his mailbox, drew a circle and wrote a sentence ""the first one in the sequence"". Later, several people were killed without a trace. And in each murder, a strange symbol would appear around Mr. Selden.
