This book is a critique, as well as a systematic documentation of the experiences and debates, of the contested marginality across South Asia in general, and Indian society in particular, across the time-space continuum. It reflects the dialectics of social justice and multiple forms of marginalization. It also sets forth how marginality is contemporarily experienced across a variety of communities and groups, such as scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, peasants, women, the physically challenged, minorities, and the culturally deprived, as well as how they cumulate across the life course.
