The primary objective of this book is to present and to discusses, in detail, a wide range of Fourier Series and various transforms. This is an introductory treatment for solving the kind of Fourier series and transform problems that are encountered by students of science, mathematics and engineering at the undergraduate level.
Do not start this book with an unreasonable fear. There are no mysteries is mathematics. It is all simple and logical reasoning explained step by step which anybody can follow with a little effort and concentration. Often a student has difficulty in following a mathematical explanation only because the author skips steps which he assumes the students to be familiar with. If the student fails to recount the missing steps, he may be faced with a gap in the reasoning and the author's conclusion may become mysteries to him. I have avoided such gaps by giving necessary references throughout the book.
The subject matter is also explained in simple manner with the help of many illustrative problems. I hope that the book will be very useful for the students for whom it is meant.
I must also apologize for the few excessively brief allusions to mathematical ideas that most student readers have not yet encountered. But with the aid of a good library, a sufficiently interested student should be able to unravel most of them for himself. At the very least such efforts may help to impart a feeling for the immense diversity classical mathematics - an aspect of the subject that is almost invisible in the average undergraduate curriculum.
This book can be prescribed as a text book for undergraduate course. I am sure that errors remain to be found, however, they are mine and mine alone. I will gratefully accept from the discriminating readers any corrections, criticism and suggestions for the improvement of the book.
I express my sincere thanks to Publisher G. Lenin, Inkstapress for his active support and suggestions. My thanks and admiration goes to the talented editor PSSM for the wonderful job to transform the manuscript into a book.
