Ebro, 1938 is a literary approximation in novel form of the largest battle in the Spanish Civil War, which took place in the Ebro valley and which unfolded from July to November in 1938. While supported by a large amount of documented facts, this book opts for a unique literary style that some might even call risky. It employs a multi-voiced perspective, meaning that the narration constantly changes from person to person so as to focus attention on different historical figures and to see first-hand what happened in the trenches and on both fronts of the war. This story-telling device also allows the author to tone down the narrative tension in order to allow room for moments of tranquility in those otherwise normally intense and anguishing moments of battle. Esta novela historica esta sumamente documentada y, a la vez, apuesta por un estilo literario peculiar y hasta arriesgado: es coral, cambia de perspectiva constantemente para focalizar su atencion en los distintos personajes historicos que intervienen, para casi oir lo que ocurre en las trincheras y en los frentes de ambos bandos. Esta forma de contar, asimismo, le permite al autor dosificar la tension narrativa para generar momentos de sosiego en aquellos tiempos de batallas tan angustiosos como intensos por propia naturaleza. En esta novela hay espacio para el amor, para la amistad, para el heroismo que nace del dolor y de la esperanza de las personas.
