Iniziano così le incredibili avventure di Pinocchio, il burattino protagonista di una delle storie, per grandi e piccini, più conosciute, lette e tradotte nel mondo. Questa storia nacque un po' per divertimento e un po' per la necessità di Collodi di guadagnare qualche soldo in più, scrivendone il primo capitolo sul ''Giornale dei Bambini'' nel 1880. La vicenda completa fu pubblicata più tardi ed ebbe un immediato successo: il simpatico personaggio, protagonista di una serie mozzafiato di avventure e monellerie, divenne immediatamente la figura più popolare della letteratura per l'infanzia in Italia. Questa edizione offre le illustrazioni dell'epoca di Attilio Mussino, che hanno reso Pinocchio la favola illustrata famosa in tutto il mondo.
