Il volume documenta il lavoro dei quindici finalisti del concorso, per la Borsa di Studio italiana, edizioni 2000-2001 e 2001-2002. Selezionati tra 425 artisti italiani emergenti, essi rappresentano perfettamente il panorama attuale dell'arte italiana. A promuovere e coordinare il concorso è stato, come sempre, l'Italian Studio Program che in questo modo, per il quarto anno consecutivo, ha offerto a un giovane artista italiano la possibilità di vivere e lavorare per un anno a New York. Responsabile della selezione dei finalisti una commissione italiana indipendente presieduta da Luigi Ontani. I vincitori sono stati scelti da una giuria del P.S.1-MoMA. I quindici finalisti: Alessandra Andrini, Davide Bertocchi, Gianni Caravaggio, Elisabetta Di Maggio, Stefania Galegati, Claudia Losi, Mala.Arti Visive, Ottonella Mocellin, Sandrine Nicoletta, Norma Jeane, Roberta Piccioni, Daniele Puppi, Fabrizio Rivola, Sislej Xhafa, Italo Zuffi.

Since 1976, the P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center of New York has hosted its annual International Studio Program, providing 18 artists from around the world with the opportunity to live and work in New York for one year. This volume documents the work of the finalists for the 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 Italian grant competitions.
