Heat is a series of images - or rather, flashes of imagery - taken from the blocked or disrupted broadcast of adult films. Depending on the degree of image distortion, the scenes are at times reduced to sheer abstraction. Regardless of the intention, what intrigues the artist most is not the erotic content, but how the distortion often creates images of beauty and grotesquerie far more powerful than the original video. There is irony in the notion that by attempting to block the brodcast of these TV signals, a more visually arresting work can reuslt. Is the devil in the details or is God? Camp makes us watch what we can't see. It slides past us over and over again - flipping, quaking, and pulsing like blood in an electric vein.
