Inhaltsangabe
The catalogue for the exhibition of the same name seen in Bejing and Milan in 2006, focuses on the dual development of contemporary Chinese art and modern China's economy. Young Chinese artists have developed a plurality of contents and ways of representation, transitioning from origins in Chinese political ideology to apolitical and global art. With the initial theme of "Fantastic Dream," co-curators Zhu Tong and Eleanora Battiston selected contemporary artists Chen Ke, Feng Zhengquan, Feng Shu, Han Yajuan, Jiang Zhi, Liu Ding, Liu Wei, Wang Qiang, and Wang Wei to exhibit in the international display. Both curators also provide critical and contextual essays, published in English and Italian, and a few selected artists provide insight to their individual pieces. The catalogue includes biographies of all participating artists. Oversize: 10x12.5" Annotation ©2008 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)

Fancy Dream. A Playground for Young Extravagant Chinese Artists
Anbieter: Libro Co. Italia Srl, San Casciano Val di Pesa, FI, Italien
Verkäuferbewertung 4 von 5 Sternen
Rilegato. Zustand: fine. A cura di Battiston E. e Tong Z.Testo Italiano, Inglese e Cinese.Bologna, 2006; ril., pp. 184, ill. b/n e col., tavv., cm 24x31,5. Towering skyscrapers, manned space flights, the Olympics. From some angles, the new China is a country of dreams fulfilled, of glory and pride. But with new pleasures come new desires, new utopias to imagine just around the bend. These Fancy Dreams from 10 young artists ask, "What next?" The collective work, which recently showed in Beijing, merges into a multicolored playground: installations, videos, photographs and traditional forms entwine so that the barriers and the borders among them melt away. The spectator finds himself at a fun fair or an amusement park, where art becomes a relief from its own political questions, an aesthetic pleasure as much as an intriguing set of ideas. Libro.
