Idealization XIV: Models in Science offers a detailed ontological, epistemological and historical account of the role of models in scientific practice. The volume contains contributions of different international scholars who developed many aspects of the use of idealizations and models both in the natural and the social sciences. This volume is particularly relevant because it offers original contributions concerning one of the main topic in philosophy of science: the role of models in such branches of the sciences and the humanities like comparative historical sociology, economics, history, linguistics and political philosophy.

Giacomo Borbone, Ph.D, employed at Catania University. He authored a book La rivoluzione culturale di Antonio Labriola, and he is an editor of Scienza Marxismo e Metafisica. Leszek Nowak e la Scuola Metodologica di Poznań. Author of several essays published in Italian, English and Polish, his fields of interests are: history of philosophy, epistemology, philosophy of science, social sciences.
Krzysztof Brzechczyn is (titular) Professor at Institute of Philosophy in Adam Mickiewicz University Poznań, Poland. He has authored four books (in Polish) and numerous papers in Chinese, English, German, Italian, and Polish. He edited Modeling in History and coedited Thinking about Provincialism in Thinking. His fields of interests are: philosophy of history, philosophy of social sciences, political and social philosophy, methodology of history.
