Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Simos Vamvakidis holds a PhD in Generative & Parametric design in architecture from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Prior to that, he obtained a Master’s in Architecture post professional degree (MArchII) from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). He also holds a BSc in Civil Engineering and a Degree and Master’s in Architecture from NTUA. His teaching experience inclu­des architecture schools in the UK, Greece and Lebanon, where he taught 4th- and 5th year design students as a Lecturer and as a Visiting Assistant Professor. He founded the architecture office SVstudio in 2008, an office that has won prizes in a number of international architectural competitions.

Each project in the book is selected for its different form, function, technique and design intent. They all offer a clear example of a de­sign project. The diverse design approaches are presented in ten chapters. Each chapter begins with explaining the main concept behind the specific design approach and with a reference to a built precedent.
