He was also a prolific writer, producing works across various genres. In 1874, he married Anna Charlotte Kitton. Throughout his career, he focused on capturing human experiences and challenges, often weaving deeper reflections into his narratives. His works gained attention during his lifetime, particularly for their exploration of personal struggles and societal issues. Waterloo passed away on October 11, 1913, in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 67. His contributions to American literature and journalism reflect his passion for storytelling and his dedication to examining the complexities of human life. His writings continue to be remembered for their insight into character and the trials of everyday existence.
