Inhaltsangabe

From the time Idi Amin Dada exploded on the scene in Uganda like a sweat-drenching nightmare, life for me and for many Ugandan youth was never the same again. The butcher of Uganda presided over a brutal administration that eventually left a once-prosperous nation reeling under the weight of a collapsed economy, a traumatized church and bushes riddled with landmines and gun-toting youth, ready to kill for hire. But once I fled Uganda in the face of debilitating persecution for those from the “wrong tribes,” I eventually took a look at Africa and what I saw was a wasteland of blood, skulls and unmarked graves. Now an elderly man in Frankfurt am Main, I feel compelled to talk heart-to-heart with the youth of my motherland, Africa. In The Fate Of A Continent I have discussed with you what I promised to do before I die. The future is now in your hands. The rest is for you to go figure!

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

James Anywar was born in Northern Uganda at a time life in the frontiers couldn’t have been any harder. The Catholics had set up outposts that were designed to alleviate the poverty and pain endemic in these parts, but change came at the pace of a wounded chameleon climbing a rugged mountain. Later the Lord opened ways for the son of an ill-educated father and illiterate mother to gain a foothold in the banking industry in Uganda, and later in Germany, where he eventually made the city of Frankfurt am Main his home. Now retired and enjoying the splendor of Europe, James looks back at the years of his youth with nostalgia, but is aware life is lived once. He looks forward to the day Mother Africa will become a force for good in the world and not a laughing stock in the community of nations.
