Cantata by the successful team of Peter Rose and Anne Conlon. Called To Be Happy is dedicated to Mary Ward , who founded the first non-closed religious order for women in 17th century England. The cantata draws parallels between her life experiences and those of young women today. The work is composed for girls'/women's choir, solo singers, narrator and orchestra and was premiered to acclaim on March 12, 2022 in the Electoral Palace in Mainz. The Maria Ward School in Mainz , commissioned the composition on the occasion of its 300th anniversary.
