Inhaltsangabe

Most retellings of Khadijah's (RA) life begin with the first revelation. This book begins earlier—with the city that formed her, the marriages and losses she had already experienced, the wealth she managed, the agents she had to judge, and the man whose character she learned to trust before the world knew him as a Prophet.

Drawing on the Qur'an, authenticated hadith, early sīrah, biographical works and modern historical scholarship, Khadijah (RA): The Making of the First Believer reconstructs the years before Hira while deliberately distinguishing between what is firmly established, what is transmitted in early biography, and what remains historically uncertain.

The book follows Khadijah (RA) as a daughter of Quraysh, mother, widow, merchant and judge of character; examines Muhammad (PBUH) before prophethood; reconstructs their commercial relationship, marriage and home; and follows the evidence that accumulated through approximately fifteen years of life together before the first revelation.

At its heart is a simple question: Why was Khadijah (RA) ready to believe?

The answer reveals that the extraordinary claim of revelation arrived after years of ordinary evidence. Before Khadijah (RA) believed Muhammad (PBUH) as a Prophet, she had already learned to trust him as a man.

Written for general readers who want an accessible yet source-conscious account of early Islamic history, this book combines narrative storytelling with careful attention to the strength, limitations and disagreements within the historical record.
