Inhaltsangabe

Get to know your Roland Mood Pan—and discover more ways to make music with it.

The same playing surface can invite a gentle handpan melody, a ringing bowl tone, a sitar phrase, or a rhythmic percussion pattern. Each sound responds differently. Knowing how to approach it makes all the difference.

The Roland Mood Pan Companion by Jef Stevens is an illustrated, hands-on guide to playing, customizing, and connecting the Roland MN-10. Clear explanations, practical exercises, and visual examples help you understand both the instrument’s everyday operation and its more creative possibilities.

Inside, you’ll learn how to:

• Play with greater expression. Explore the nine main pads, Special Pad, and side areas, using touch, dynamics, muting, pressure, and silence to shape your music.

• Understand the sounds. Learn how Tones and Styles work together, why different instruments call for different gestures, and how to build useful musical patterns.

• Create your own setups. Explore scales, custom tunings, pad assignments, sensitivity, and effects with the Mood Pan Plus app.

• Practice with purpose. Develop rhythm, melody, and phrasing through focused exercises, a thirty-day practice roadmap, and worksheets for recording your discoveries.

• Connect and record. Find practical guidance on headphones, speakers, Bluetooth audio and MIDI, USB audio and MIDI, loopers, effects pedals, and recording software.

• Keep playing comfortably. Explore positioning, accessible approaches, group activities, temporary pad markers, care, and troubleshooting.

Whether you are learning your first patterns or bringing the Mood Pan into an existing musical setup, this companion gives you a practical reference to keep beside the instrument. Work through it chapter by chapter, or turn directly to the technique, setting, or connection you need.

Learn what your Mood Pan can do—and make it part of the way you play.
