Inhaltsangabe

My Life of Rhyme is an illustrated collection of warm, witty and deeply personal poetry by Tommy Chuter.

Written in Tommy’s distinctive style of traditional rhyming verse, these poems look back across more than seventy years of family life, friendship, love, loss and the everyday absurdities that make life worth remembering. Childhood streets, old chairs, Christmas gatherings and departed friends sit comfortably beside spiders, strange creatures, disastrous dental appointments and a grandfather clock unexpectedly pulled from a lake.

Behind the humour lies an honest awareness of ageing and Tommy’s continuing struggle with Parkinson’s disease. Even when confronting grief, regret or uncertainty, his writing retains its warmth, humanity and determination to find something worth smiling about.

Accompanied by specially created watercolour illustrations, My Life of Rhyme is more than a collection of poems. It is the voice of one man looking back on the people and experiences that shaped him—and sharing what he found there with anyone willing to listen.
