A CASE BOOK OF MYSTERIES (BOOK 1)

Four cases. Four mysteries. One detective who refuses to stop searching for the truth.

Enter the world of Detective Chand Adhikary, an observant and relentless investigator whose cases take him from wealthy family mansions to the dangerous streets of Mumbai and Kolkata, and into the forgotten history of Asansol.

In A Case Book of Mysteries (Book 1), four standalone investigations reveal how seemingly ordinary events can conceal motives, conspiracies, revenge and deadly secrets.

THE DISAPPEARING HEIRESS

Priya Kapoor, a wealthy heiress destined to inherit a vast family fortune, suddenly disappears from her family's mansion. There is no obvious sign of a struggle, yet her abandoned phone and missing personal belongings raise troubling questions. Chand begins questioning the Kapoor family and household staff, only to discover a world of hidden rivalries, financial pressures and carefully guarded secrets. As the investigation progresses, the enormous inheritance becomes impossible to ignore—and Chand realizes that someone close to Priya may have had a powerful reason to make her disappear.

THE CRYPTIC KILLER

A mysterious killer is murdering prominent individuals in Mumbai and leaving behind cryptic poems and coded messages. Each crime appears carefully planned, and every clue seems designed to challenge the detective pursuing the case. Chand's investigation leads him to a charitable organization and the disgruntled former employees connected to it. As the killer's next target is identified, Chand must decipher the clues and anticipate the killer's movements before another life is lost.

THE ASANSOL MURDERS

A series of deaths in Asansol appears connected to a scandal that took place decades earlier during a famous pie-eating contest. Chand Adhikary and Superintendent Ranjan Chowbey begin reconstructing the forgotten events surrounding the disgraced contestant Deodhar Prasad. Their investigation reveals accusations, manipulation, corruption and a family devastated by the consequences. When the past finally catches up with those who were involved, Chand discovers that revenge can survive for generations—and that buried injustice can have deadly consequences.

THE DARK SECRETS OF KOLKATA

A suspicious murder draws Chand into a much larger investigation involving disappearances, organized crime, political corruption and powerful businessmen. The dead include people who appear to have been connected to the same hidden network, while evidence points toward influential figures operating behind respectable public identities. As Chand follows the trail through Kolkata's underworld, the investigation becomes increasingly dangerous. The deeper he digs, the clearer it becomes that the truth threatens people with enormous power—and that exposing them may come at a personal cost.

Across these four investigations, Chand relies on observation, evidence, interrogation, deduction and an instinct for the details others overlook. Each case presents a different mystery, a different setting and a different challenge, but all share one question:

What is really happening beneath the surface?

From glittering mansions and coded messages to forgotten scandals and criminal conspiracies, A Case Book of Mysteries (Book 1) brings together four compelling detective stories filled with suspense, investigation, hidden motives and unexpected revelations.
