When Sammy wakes up in a dark forest, the rain pouring down around him, he quickly realizes he isn't alone. Monsterous creatures that lurk in the darkness quickly attack him, and though Sammy tries to escape, they close in on him. Thankfully, Rourke comes to his rescue, but unfortantly for Sammy, all Rourke seems to do is bring up more questions than answers. Rourke, even though he is frustrated with Sammy, decides to bring him along as Rourke continues his journey towards the Last City, the one place where light still shines within the darkness of the lands. It takes some effort, but Rourke is finally able to convince Sammy of the truth: that the lands are not the place that Sammy knows as his home, and that he needs to learn to adapt to these lands if he wishes to survive. Sammy believes him, much to Rourke's relief. Now, together, the two must continue on Rourke's journey, and maybe even start their own along the way.
