The book When the Veil Thins; Tales from the In-Between, is. a follow-up to my book Where the Veil is Thin. This sequel includes several new images, color photographs and revised text. The story begins with an account of the Enchanted Bog, continues with tales from the Otherworld, and concludes with a section of images drawn from dreams, memories and random impressions. The impetus to begin drawing and writing was a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease, modified to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. My wife and I had just recently retired, but the retirement we had envisioned was not to be. Unable to walk for extended periods of time and prone to freezing and falls, I channeled my energy into drawing. I worked with graphite producing works that ranged from drawings that take 3-5 days and tell a specific story to quick stream of consciousness sketches. Most of the works in this collection are from my first three years living at the Old Folks Home. I am fortunate that my particular PSP has primarily affected my balance and walking. The hand tremors common to Parkinson's have been mild enough to allow me to continue drawing. I invite you to share in this journey as I document my interactions with the Fae of the Bog, my adventures in the Otherworld, and nearly 70 years of memories.
