About the AuthorJohn M. Knight is a writer, technologist, and lifelong collector of ghost stories, folklore, and forgotten lore. Raised in the American Midwest, he grew up hearing tales of the Headless Horseman alongside local legends and urban myths. That early fascination with the uncanny eventually led to a writing style shaped by years of reading ghost stories and a deep admiration for the work of M.R. James-discovered, fittingly, through the gothic sensibilities of Mike Mignola's Hellboy.Knight works professionally as a program manager and has a background in software engineering. He is also a recognized maker and researcher, having contributed to several published articles on the history of human spaceflight. His fiction combines a love of atmospheric horror with world-building and archival curiosity.Securis Movetur is his first book and the opening entry in the Dunning Cycle-a series of Jamesian tales connected by a shared narrator and a larger, unfolding mystery.
