That along with the smell of wood smoke would draw them right to me. I knew at least four men, maybe more, trailed me at this very time. I knew not if they were lawmen or gun hands hired by Douglas. Either one would mean the end of me and justice for my brothers. I sat in a hollow place in a hillside. Sat because it wasn't big enough to stretch out my six foot frame in any direction. How did it come to this I wondered, but I knew the answer all too well. GREED!

George was born in 1960 in Jefferson County Alabama. The fifth of nine children, eight boys and one girl. The family was raised poor, but not poorly raised. At home, George was taught morals, ethics and respect. Reading, writing and arithmetic at school. Love, honor and obedience to God at church. He grew up on John Wayne movies, country music and the writings of Louis L' Amour, Robert Louis Stevenson, H.G. Wells and Jules Verne.
