Helen is no longer in power as her health fails and this is the trigger for the actions to start against them all. Patrick has to remind them all of the laws of the land as he ties them up in legality. Augusta kills her lover, in the same old madness inherited from her mother, which complicates the whole problem, Augustus has to make a personal visit to sort out the problem in the same old way, and Alice finds out some more of his complicated history as they arrive for the demonstrations in central London.
