A FOE MORE FEARSOME THAN ROMANS! Simon of Gitta has journeyed to ancient Britannia to learn from the island's druids. There, he hears dark rumors of dragons rampaging across the countryside, smashing and scorching... but these are only rumors. A more pressing crisis arises when the Romans invade Britannia-again. At the Battle of the Medway River, the Britons manage to rout the Roman army, but at an enormous cost when their king is slain. Now the young new High King Pendragon must quickly secure his throne and defend his kingdom. Suddenly, at a secretive meeting of the Raven Druid and Eagle Druid colleges, the druids are slaughtered to the last man, trampled and burned, and the locals swear dragons are to blame. Alarmed, the High King sends the Merlin Druids (including Simon) to investigate-but, while an active war rages, he can only spare a handful of brave warriors to accompany them. Slowly, these impromptu investigators unravel a secret, complex conspiracy of Picts and Romans, rogue druids, and secret cults to unleash fiery spirit dragons on an unsuspecting country. With time quickly running out and the fate of all Britannia at stake, can a mere handful of druids and soldiers overcome such formidable enemies to thwart the nefarious plot unfolding around them? Or will Britannia burn? Dive into a world of ancient lore and mythical monsters in an epic adventure that will captivate readers to the last page.

Glenn A. Rahman, in the '70s and '80s, was a frequent pre-computer era contributor to the semi-pro scene, such as Fantasy Crosswinds, Eldritch Tales, and Crypt of Cthulhu. His first professional publication came with the release of the fantasy board game Divine Right, published by TSR, Inc. in 1979. This was followed by Knights of Camelot (1980, TSR), the Trojan War (1980, Metagaming), and Down with the King (1980, Avalon Hill). During this time, Glenn Rahman and his brother Philip (founder of the still-extant Fedogan and Bremer book company, specializing in Cthulhu Mythos and supernaturally-themed literature) created a two-part article for Sorcerer's Apprentice, the Lovecraft Variant and the Monsters of the Cthulhu Mythos which amounted to the first successful transference of H.P. Lovecraft's style of supernatural literature into a modern role-playing format. In addition, Mr. Rahman has continued to publish board gaming and fantasy role-playing articles and supplements widely. His first book-length fictional work was serialized in Dragon Magazine (beginning in 1980), entitled The Minarian Legends, which keyed off his original Divine Right universe. Minarian Legends has lately been reissued as a paperback book. In 2001, Sidecar Books of Minneapolis, MN published his Gardens of Lucullus, a Cthulhu Mythos novel in collaboration with Richard L. Tierney. In 2023, DMR Books published A Feast of Ambrosia, featuring his two Dark Age sword and sorcery heroes, Bingor and Donalbain.
Richard L. Tierney (1936 - 2022) is a poet, author, and editor of adventure fiction, mainly in the realm of dark fantasy. Since his mid-teens, he has been both a fan and scholar of H.P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, Clark Ashton Smith, and other great names from the pulp fiction era. In 2010, he was nominated for the Science Fiction Poetry Association's Grandmaster Award. In 1961, Tierney earned a degree in Entomology (Iowa State College) and served for many years with the U.S. Forest Service in several of the western states and Alaska. A haunter of archaeological ruins by instinct, he has traveled widely, especially in Mexico, Central, and South America. Many of the ideas and images that he has employed in his stories have been inspired by his extensive travels. Richard is currently enjoying his retirement in his house, "the hermitage," in the Corn Steppes of northern Iowa.
