On January 24th, 1986 at the age of sixteen, I barely survived discharging a firearm into myself on purpose. It was literally a life, to suicide march. I had an intended purpose, and it was a journey to get there. With only a few minutes left to survive after the weapon was discharged, I had to pivot my life towards another destination. I had to take another trip, to arrive at another destination, this time it was a destination that would hopefully lead towards rescue, and life. I wanted to live! I realized I regretted suicide, and I was willing to fight to live. For every journey ever taken, there were connecting points along the way to mark the progression of the trip.
