Inhaltsangabe

Based on a true story, this emotional kick in the pants is written from the perspective of a rescue husky dog overcoming catastrophic physical injury. Perfect for animal lovers, rescue advocates, and older readers who understand the true depth of a dog's soul.

Elsker was a vibrant Siberian husky - until a devastating car accident threatened to take everything away from her. Faced with a shattered hip and a punctured lung, Elsker’s only hope was a life-altering surgery. But surgery was only the beginning. To heal from a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO operation), there were many specific things she had to do & eat - and things her humans had to do to her.

This is the story of a dog who refused to stay down and the family that refused to let her go. From the first wobbly steps to the triumph of her first run, Elsker’s journey is a testament to the miracle of modern medicine and the unstoppable power of love. It is told from her (Elsker the Husky's) authentic perspective - with all the husky sass and flair.

Learn about the physical therapy, herbs, hippy energy treatments, and fancy modern veterinary treatments - like laser treatment and red light therapy - that let Elsker run again.

Written and Illustrated by Elsker's owner, the person who foster failed in this rescue dog, Cameo Anderson. Elsker was adopted from Dogworks Ohio and currently lives in Michigan with her pack of dogs, a variety of fosters, and eight cats.
