This entire book is related to my testimony. I am writing this book in real time. Each story you read is a devotional, and it will have just happened. This book is almost like my journal. Sure, there may be no actual dates to it for you to see, but when the Holy Spirit spoke to me, I tried to capture it in the here and now. I didn’t wait until my kids grew up and moved out of the house. This isn’t that kind of story. This is a testimony, a messy one too if you will, that many can relate to. Not just women, or men, or parents, or people who are grieving, but ALL people who just want to grow in their faith or at least see what all the fuss is about. There will be stories that are silly and less in depth. Those are the stories from the beginning of my journey, where it all started. I hope that with this book you will see my growth and hopefully realize that it isn’t all rainbows and butterflies. My hope is that you will be able to relate your own struggles and see that faith doesn’t just happen overnight. Surviving Not Thriving is a steppingstone of ways to relate the Bible to our everyday lives. As you read on in this book, I pray that the Holy Spirit will breathe new life into you, that Jesus will take on your burdens, and that our Father’s Will will be done. Let’s grow in our faith together.
