Sadly, that was just the beginning of the misfortunes, as Kari’s mother Elin grew sick, and as she lay dying, she told Kari to return the beautiful pink stone to the heart of the mountain, for only then would Torsten return.

While navigating profound grief, Kari takes the pink stone, which has been nothing but a bedknob for almost eighteen years, and goes on a journey to find not only Torsten but also a way to go on with her life after knowing she will never see her beloved mother again until her own dying day.
