It is proposed that the nature of our world is quite different than ordinarily believed, even by scientists. This includes biological evolution.
We argue that space and time are man-made constructions. Since the laws of nature hold true in both directions of time, we can choose either direction to be the primary direction of time. This allows us to replace the idea of the big bang with that of the big crunch.
We consider the general question of what is real and what is not. It is argued that events are the only real things and any other entity is a result of a man-made definition. An analogy to our view of time is a reel of a movie: the frames exist timelessly. Here the frames represent events.
The many worlds theory of quantum mechanics postulates a continual splitting of the universe, thereby allowing for the evolution of living things to proceed considerably more rapidly than ordinarily believed.
