Where appropriate, I provide examples of how the components are used in vintage tube-type devices along with circuit simulations as a means of verifying the theory. In the end, your troubleshooting skills will be significantly enhanced by learning (1) how the components function in the various stages of the device, (2) what failure modes to look for, and (3) how component failure affects the voltage and currents in the circuits. In short, you should be better prepared to make the most of vintage tube-type electronics.
