Rebecca A. Engle is an award-winning author, special education teacher, and nationally recognized advocate for students with learning disabilities. Drawing from her own lived experience growing up with learning challenges, Rebecca has transformed personal adversity into a lifelong mission: to create safer, more inclusive educational environments where every child is valued and empowered. She holds a Master's degree from Texas Tech University and is deeply committed to ending the use of seclusion and restraint in schools. At just 19 years old, Rebecca made history in Texas politics, launching her advocacy for student rights and inclusive educational reform. Since then, she has remained a powerful voice for equitable policies and trauma-informed, compassionate approaches in education. Rebecca is the author of Through Our Lens and Tangled In Silent Norms, and the co-author of Women of Purpose: Creating a Better World. She also writes impactful children's literature, including Step Into My Shoes and The Way I Move, stories that promote empathy, understanding, and acceptance among young readers. As a neurodivergent public speaker, educator, and writer, Rebecca amplifies the voices of marginalized learners and works tirelessly to reshape the narrative around disability and inclusion. Through her teaching, advocacy, and storytelling, she continues striving to change the world-one student, one classroom, and one story at a time.
