Inhaltsangabe

Nemira loves everything about this foreign princess, enough to almost wish it was possible for two women to love each other. Those who bear the blessing of the Great Ring, the Ringborn, can only access the gift of their magic through the taking of consorts. Those with rich ancestry, such as Princess Orsetta, are capable of hosting dozens, each one giving more and more magic, while the consorts gain just the barest touch of her gift. Yet Princess Orsetta has consistently refused the opportunity to sleep with men, only studying her favorite and highly illegal subject, necromancy, from afar. It's her noble right to do as she pleases, she asserts. And not even being buried in a shallow grave convinced her otherwise. Princess Nemira can't stand the strings placed around her neck, the expectations placed on her for being the sole heir of her late mother. Even if she doesn't yet have the words to describe why marriage causes her heart to drop so much, or why she's so hesitant to take her arranged husband as consort. Finding an opportunity to escape her home in a buried Orsetta, Nemira invents a new identity and flees while being chased by her guards, vampires, and a couple armed nations--all the while, Orsetta seems to grow sick from those bite marks on her neck. Blood of the Great Ring is a sapphic vampire romantasy between two princesses in a highly homophobic society. As a standalone novel it contains light spice, heavy necromancy, and a full story arc.
