Inhaltsangabe

2018. Seventy-one-year-old Vietnam veteran Jack Williams leads a solitary life on the streets of Philadelphia helping the homeless. That wasn’t always the case. Once it was him who needed the help as he found his way back through the darkness of his past. One night, though, with help of a Salvation Army Santa, he finds himself sent back to a Christmas long ago—before he lost everything to serving his country and the horrors of battle—to get a second chance to meet again the woman he once loved more than life itself.

1968. Juliette Lewis has her whole life ahead of her. She’s young and beautiful, and dreams of becoming a writer. With a horrific war half a world away in Vietnam, all she can think about is her missing brother who returned home, but not to his waiting family. Her worry fuels her passion for writing and helping those less fortunate than herself at a local shelter. Until one day, an unexpected stranger crosses her path, and the man she loves delivers shattering news that will change the course of her life forever.

A dual-timeline story about love and forgiveness and the power of a wish to heal the wounds of the past… and the present.
