To mitigate the serious effects—direct and indirect—on health, it is important to undertake research that can identify the interlinkages between climate change and human health. Research-based evidence is urgently needed to understand how climate change impacts the health of people and their environment.
Recognizing the urgent need for research, the editors of this volume have examined the evidence available in developed and developing countries to assess the processes that bring about change. This is the third of a series of books published by the editors on health and climate change. It is hoped that by examining the results of these research studies, we will be able to design interventions to prevent the negative impacts of climate change on human health.
