Since the middle of 1984 I have been collecting words that have caught my ears from You....well, maybe not You....or maybe...actually you.
It all happened closing time at First Avenue West circa 1984.

Dennis B Wilde was leaving the lounge around two in the morning.
On the way out he said:

"Never trust a smiling dog eating shit."
He walked down the hall.
I ran to the end of the bar and called him back.
"Did you just make that up?"
I asked.
He had a look of confusing as I repeated what he had just said.
He laughed so hard he was doubled over.
Something clicked and I thought how many of these quaint, clever, silly and profound quips are said and lost to the wind.
Since that day I have been collecting words that caught me ear.
In every walk of life from grocery stores, walks, recovery, family and, yes, sometimes when I am just sitting around listening to myself.

Anyway here it is April 1st.....April Fools Day and for the forty-one years I have, ahem, religiously written down The day, The Year and The Person (When I ask for their name or know them....unless they are Anonymous) who spoke those words of wisdom, humor, nonsense or just caught my ear....er....soul.
