The story follows the remarkable journey of David Hartley, an ex-police detective and current lawyer from New Lexington, who is shot in 2024 and mysteriously wakes up three hundred years in the future. While navigating the marvels of the future, David grapples with a yearning for his past life. Ultimately, he succeeds in brokering peace, while discovering secrets about this future society that lead him to the realization that everything is not as it appears. With a longing to return to his own time with his newfound wisdom, he learns to embrace the ordinary while carrying within him the extraordinary lessons learned from his extraordinary journey through time.
As the story builds to its ultimate climax, several key factors and people converge to create layers of plot twists, betrayals, and one final cliffhanger that will leave readers wondering what the future holds for David and others he meets along the way.
