Five is a book of my newest fictional works. The first,.22, is the account of a sheriff in a desperate search for an escaped prisoner intent on killing his estranged wife. This is followed by Weathering the Storm, which follows the struggle of an Iraqi refugee whose whole life (and future) is threatened by a potentially devastating hurricane. Rusty's Sea Monster can be construed as a big fish story, literally. Rusty Fenwick, a retired science teacher and mentor to the narrator recounts his harrowing tale of his encounter with a sea monster. The Disturbing Case of Leonard Healey is a bit creepy. Leonard is an extremely talented taxidermist who befriends the curator of the local museum who witnesses the dysfunctional relationship between him and his domineering mother. The last story in the book is Betty and Bob, ( A cautionary tale of Christmas). Bob Utley, widower for seven years on Christmas Eve is visited by late wife Betty, and confronted by his past. Will Bob be saved or will he share Betty's fate? All of my stories combine a bit of horror, comedy, and adventure filled with interesting or uninteresting normal folks and a few odd characters that might remind the reader of persons that they have met.
