At the age of 65, I flew to the other side of the world to find a Daoist temple that would accept me as a student and monk. My Daoist practices had begun 22 years earlier, but I feared they were becoming stale. I was in search of a new Master who could help me deepen my practice, expand my understanding, and get me on a solid path toward spiritual growth.

I found what I was searching for and so much more. This book details what we did on White Horse Mountain at The Five Immortals Temple, what I thought I had learned, and then what I have lived since. Prose, poetry, essays on Daoism, and more.

Now, 9 years later, I tell this story of my spiritual quest, and what I have done with what I learned on that quest. I'm in the mountains of western Massachusetts now where I teach and write. Taiji, qigong, meditation, and Daoist Arts, are my subjects, and I have taught them at Williams College and at my own school, Blue Heron Stillness.
