Thirteen year old Jack Donner has problems with bullies. Although many of the other kids pick on him, there are two, in particular, who are especially vicious. Not wanting to complain to anyone, including his parents, poor Jack has grown up thinking this is just the way it is and always will be. Then, on his birthday in May of 1989, a new kid arrives at school. It soon becomes obvious that this kid is a little different from others Jack knows.

This stranger doesn’t waste any time helping Jack out with his bully problems. Jack soon discovers that there is a lot more to this new kid than he thought. Along with the help of his new friend, Jack sets out on a mission to help put something right that went wrong forty five years in the past. He also learns that he has the power to see and help suffering ghosts who are desperate to find someone who can. Who knew that junior high would be so strange?
