Joana A. Quintela is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture at Universidade Portucalense (UPT), Portugal, and Coordinator of the Short Master’s in Sommelier and the Global Wine Market at Portucalense Business School. She holds a European PhD in Tourism from the University of Aveiro. Alongside her academic career, she has extensive professional experience in hospitality management in Portugal and abroad, as well as in training, consultancy, and internship coordination. She supervises curricular internships and Master’s dissertations. She is an integrated researcher at REMIT and a collaborating researcher at CICEE. Her scholarly work includes articles in international journals and book chapters, and she serves on the editorial and scientific boards of academic journals. She is also involved in several Erasmus+ projects. Her research focuses on tourism and hospitality management, health and wellness, wine tourism, marketing, and sustainability.

Makhabbat Ramazanova is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Master’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality at Portucalense University (UPT), Portugal. She holds a PhD in Tourism from the University of the Balearic Islands (Spain), awarded Distinction Cum Laude, and Master’s degrees in Sustainable Development (Ireland) and Tourism (Kazakhstan). She is an integrated member of the ‘Territory and Development Research Group’ of REMIT – Research on Economics, Management and Information Technologies (UPT). She is Principal Investigator of multiple Erasmus+ projects related to tourism management, sustainable tourism, climate change, circular economy, ecotourism entrepreneurship, cultural heritage and gastronomy and has led international initiatives related to curriculum reform and HEIs staff capacity building across Central Asia, South America, Southeast Asia and Europe. Her research work focuses on sustainability in tourism, tourism-water nexus, tourism for regional development.
