The notebook, bought for the previous collection Going Forwards, had been filled in that direction. Yet again I found myself in a place to write, but this time with no paper on which to write.

Being a resourceful poet, if such a thing exists, I came up with the idea of turning the book around. In that instant Reverse Order came into being, in the delicatessen’s outdoor eating area.

Now Christmas is almost upon us. I note that Kazuo Ishiguro in his book The Unconsoled mentions world cup football; clearly he can foretell the future!

I have bought video games for my two grandsons. Will they be disappointed by the small size of their presents. In future will all of the gifts be of no size whatsoever.
