Dr. Jessie Myles McCaa is an educator, writer, and lifelong advocate for learning and faith. A native of Bossier City, Louisiana, she is the third of six siblings and received her early education at Butler Elementary School, Charlotte Mitchell, and Bossier High School. Her spiritual foundation was nurtured at Antioch Baptist Church in Bossier City.Dr. McCaa pursued higher education at Grambling State University, Louisiana State University Shreveport, and Louisiana Baptist University. She also studied writing at Centenary College and Louisiana Tech University and earned a diploma in short story writing from the Long Ridge Writing Group. In addition, she completed the National Baptist Association COPP Program with a Diploma in Christian Education.With more than 35 years of experience in education as a teacher and counselor, Dr. McCaa devoted her career to helping students learn, grow, and succeed. Even after retirement, she continues to support and mentor students. She also worked with Educational Testing Systems, contributing to assessments such as TOEFL, SAT, and ELPAC.Dr. McCaa is the author of two poetry books and a novel and continues to work on several writing projects. Known for her humility and dedication to helping others, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and sharing her talents through education, faith, and writing.
