Inhaltsangabe

The Business Environment unit is the largest unit at level 2 and one where students will encounter multiple new areas beyond double entry bookkeeping. It is challenging due to:

  1. The wide range of subjects
  2. The need to produce written answers
  3. The return of the harder elements of Introduction to Bookkeeping and Principles of Bookkeeping Controls.
The expected guided learning hours for this unit is 90 hours and it is likely that students will need at least this amount of time.
A study guide has been provided to assist with this unit which is available on Amazon. These example assessments include:
  1. A set of crib notes derived from the full guide. This is not a substitute for the study guide (as you will need the explanations for written questions) but allows for a quick revision skim prior to sitting the assessment.
  2. Five practice assessments.
The practice assessments are slightly harder than the actual assessments in that they:
  1. Provide more written question examples than will be seen in the assessment - but come with full specimen answers to assist in this area showing how to pick up the easy marks and writing style;
  2. Some questions do not have options (such as select the daybook) when the options will be provided in the exam.
But the assessments are slightly easier with respect to the questions being clearer than some of the either/or questions in the AAT exam (where about 5 marks will have to be guessed as each option will be the right answer but only one will score the marks). This is a factor that students will have to get used to on this exam.

It is vital to practice assessments to be successful in this unit such that this set of assessments have been prepared in addition to the two practice assessments available on the AAT portal.
