Inhaltsangabe

This is small-town Texas where friendships are lifelong and loyalty is treasured. So, why does Cam feel like the biblical Job and Anastasia is trapped in a miserable marriage?

Spanning three decades, There Are No Rules brings a varied yet connected cast of characters, each working through personal tragedies and celebrating triumphs, together and apart.

Campbell “Cam” Dawson met Anastasia Barlos (A.B. to most everyone) in college, the beauty queen everyone wanted, and Cam figured he’d never have. When tragedy strikes A.B.’s family, she shuns her abusive father and clings to her newest acquaintance, Cam’s grandmother. Granzie shows A.B. a life worth living, leaving Cam to his own devices, and his own lovers, causing diverging paths for all involved.

From 1980 to 2017, follow this inspirational story, a remarkable testament to the friends we make when we are young, whose lives intertwine over the years, and the support they offer when things go bad. Rich characters drive the story with surprising humor amidst the hardships.

Why do bad things happen to good people? It’s the story of us all, how to survive anything life throws your way, no matter how painful.
