“1066 and all that, a memorable history of England” (1) was a remarkably successful history which uniquely used only 2 Genuine Dates. It ended with America becoming Top Nation and English history came to a full stop. A rather belated tribute to the original, “1776 and all that, a memorable history of America” (2), took up the story to the present day where the People’s Republic of China is champing at the bit to replace the US as the next Top Nation. However, lacking the self-control of the original, 3 more Genuine Dates were added. Its publication should have brought a welcome pause to these “Memorable Histories” but like life, history is never that simple. People are determined to make more of it, none more so than Europeans. The European Union (EU) is currently in charge of things and they have convinced themselves that they are destined to be the world’s next Superpower (3). As such, they and not China should be the next Top Nation. While this seemed to be somewhat delusional, the author felt that he needed to drag himself out of retirement and put this nonsense to bed.
