Inhaltsangabe

Charles Hughes was the Rector of St Mary’s Perivale for 46 years yet he had more children (11) than parishioners (5) – what did he do all the time and how did he and his wife end up jointly as millionaires?

His life was bookended with important court cases, the first when he was 1 year old set the course of his life to come, the second ended his life and completed his disgrace.

All of this centres on what he did with the graveyard at St Mary’s and raises the question of whether this was all his doing or that of his wife?
