This book started out as a few tip sheets for the author's mother-in-law - and it just grew. It doesn't start with the basics but shows how bridge in the kitchen can be enjoyed even if your cards are not brilliant. The author has included some of the important but neglected laws of contract bridge, and tales of his experiences of playing - on a boat sailing up the Irrawadi from Rangoon to Mandalay, and under a wriggly-tin roof in the African Jungle. It would make a brilliant Christmas present for anybody who plays bridge. He doesn't promise you he'll make you play better, but he thinks it might make you a better and happier player.
